Smart Integrated Energy   We believe SYNERGi is the world’s most advanced hybrid energy solution. SYNERGi intelligently and efficiently optimizes its use of each energy source, assisting designers create the most cost-effective system for each site. SYNERGi is unique for its dynamic detection of conditions and best-use of existing capital equipment, whilst also extending generator and battery service-lives. By dynamically self-optimizing and self-healing, Synergi systems deliver maximum system up-time, lowest capital costs, lowest running costs and lowest generator emissions. For example, due to their astounding efficiency (approximately 97%) and sensitivity, Synergi solar-converters ‘start’ earlier and ‘stop’ later each day, thus harvesting more solar energy than would otherwise be expected. Each SYNERGi controller is generic, facilitating easier deployment and commissioning of multiple systems at multiple sites. System optimization is extraordinarily simple; field results and related patents prove this. Commissioning costs are therefore lower because fewer site visits are required to ‘tune’ each system.

It will adapt to optimize out variables so, the expensive dimensioning and on-going visits necessary in deploying and maintaining other typical hybrids are avoided.

Tracks equipment health:  SYNERGi tracks site equipment health so maintenance can be pre-empted. Intelligently and efficiently optimizes energy sources to ensure a minimalist infrastructure footprint to lower CAPEX. Patented SYNERGi control algorithms dynamically take care of site anomalies and changing conditions.

The Synergi Energy Manager provides all the necessary control parameters for starting & stopping up to 2 generators, and also caters for partial grid connection.

The Synergi Controller provides dynamic adjustment of the DC system output power to match the optimum power output of the site generator. This is termed Dynamic Diesel Generator Optimisation (D2GO). The Synergi Controller provides:

• Automatic generator maximum power tracking & anti-stall

• Automatic setting of generator load to user-defined optimum level

• Ability to control two generators alternating their cycles to synchronise their servicing

• Inclusion of “Green” energy sources – Solar and Wind Converters

• Full kWhr logging of all energy sources (grid, gensets, solar, wind) on an hourly, daily and monthly basis

• Front-panel key-switch to prevent unexpected genset start-up during genset servicing

• One-step front-panel control to provide battery initialisation (commissioning) charge

• Start/Stop Generator based on:

• Time of day (up to 2 periods per day) (Time-based starts greater than 1 day can be programmed via the Extended Charge feature)

• Battery Ahrs (Battery Capacity)

• All Start stop Functions can be enabled at once to ensure maximum security. Generator will start on whichever start condition is met first and stop according to the parameters set for that condition.

• Choice of Generator Stop function based on time, low battery current and/or battery capacity (Ahrs)

• Facility to allow for battery recharge inefficiency to enable recharge of battery to true full capacity

• Logging of battery charge/recharge, actual Ahrs charged into the battery and projected capacity creating accurate battery history

• Simple manual starting of the generator via the Synergi Controller front panel

SYNERGI DIMENSIONING

In order to augment the economics of hybrid solutions, the goal is to maximize the battery time and minimize the charging time. SYNERGi is compatible with various battery storage mediums; yet it is those designed specifically for highly cyclic fast charging regimes which will provide the best battery life and diesel fuel savings. Battery life is dependent on the amount of energy discharged at each cycle. Maximizing the cycle life is possible at the expense of increasing battery capacity; targeted payback calculations and balancing desired CAPEX and OPEX benefits play a major role in determining the optimum battery size. Enatel Energy has developed an advanced dimensioning tool which is based on real world and actual data sets to simulate anticipated benefits; such as generator life, maintenance, fuel savings and payback. This allows users to understand the trade-offs, idiosyncrasies and evaluate against different battery types/configurations, solar integration and coordinate extended services etc
